On 05/24/2023, the rector of the University of Blida 2 Lounici Ali, Prof. Khaled Ramoul, attended the defense of an LMD doctoral dissertation, in the defense room of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The dissertation was
presented by a visually impaired candidate, Ayoub Charki, enrolled in the department of history, majoring in Maghreb-European relations in modern and contemporary times. The dissertation entitled The Association of Ulemas and its
role in the confrontation of colonial policy (1931-1956), was supervised by Prof. Saddek Dahache.
The defense took place in the presence of the vice rector in charge of scientific research, Prof. Nacereddine Bouhacein and the dean of the faculty of humanities and social sciences, Prof. Redhouane Zammouchi, as well as a number of
professors from the department of history.
During his speech, the rector praised the efforts of the candidate and considered that the handicap whatever it is, is not a barrier in the scientific field. He added that through the strategy initiated by the ministry, special attention is given to
people with impairments. Furthermore, the rector declared that the University of Blida 2 is a pioneer as it implemented the InSIDE unit dedicated to distance education for the benefit of students with impairments. InSIDE is a center
equipped with the latest devices and applications that help in the acquisition of distance education by this category of learners. Prof. Ramoul notably underlined that the university has spared no effort to include these students and provide
them with all the logistical and pedagogical frameworks at the level of all the faculties.
To carry out this effort, the University of Blida 2 has signed a twinning agreement with the National Higher School of the Deaf and Dumb to facilitate and upgrade the skills of students with impairments.
