On 05/30/2023, the defense of the first Master’s thesis on national territory and within the framework of resolution 1275, degree of a startup-Patent of invention, was held at the University of Blida 2.The thesis entitled The economic feasibility study of FOUR-GM for general maintenance, is a project that received the label of innovative project by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-Enterprises on May 21, 2023.
The defense took place in the presence of the rector, the vice-rectors, the deans, the deans’ deputies, and respectively, the head of the incubator, the head of the House of entrepreneurship of the above mentioned university, as well as the coordinator of the incubators of the universities of the Centre of Algeria.
During his speech, the rector, Prof. Khaled Ramoul, confirmed that his university is honored to host the defense of the very first thesis at the national level, within the framework of resolution 1275. He also praised the efforts of the project team and the research directors, as he pointed out in the same context that above mentioned resolution is one of the obligations of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research who has introduces a new dynamism into the university space. This propelled the student to the rank of a true partner in the local and national development activation through the resolution, and enabled him/her to create a startup.
For his part, Dr. Bellali, member of the national coordination committee for the monitoring of innovation and university entrepreneurship, and coordinator of the incubators of the universities of the Centre of Algeria, as well as a member of the jury of the present defense, reaffirmed that the university of Blida 2 has made great efforts which have borne their results, because among 42 university institutions in the Centre, this university is a pioneer in the application of resolution 1275. Dr. Bellali added that what distinguishes this project is its particularity of having received the label of innovative project and of having been supported at the same time.Dr. Zahia Ouahabi, main supervisor of the thesis, clarified that FOUR GM for general maintenance is a service institution and is considered the first startup in Algeria.
The speaker reported that the thesis is distinguished by the courage in the choice of the subject and the scientific study that has been made of it.Dr. Ouahabi confirmed that projects within the framework of resolution 1275 are no longer limited to the fields of natural sciences, technology and economics, thanks to the flexibility of the resolution, which has allowed subjects and projects to be transdisciplinary.
Thus, this project takes on the particularity of the use of electronic applications in accordance with the digital age, and it has enabled the provision of a service in an electronic interactive framework between the institution and the client, unlike the traditional way.As for Dr. Mohamed Boubkira, head of the center for technological support and innovation at the University of Blida 2, and co-supervisor of the present project, he confirmed that after the supervision of the theoretical framework by the main supervisor, the project needed special support. to ensure knowledge of the economic and innovative aspects from a technical point of view, such as the strategic analysis of the market, the study of the opportunities and challenges of the project, the development of a prototype for the application approved in the project, which was presented to the national committee with the business plan. Dr. Boubkira added that the preliminary estimates for the launch and start of the effective service of FOUR GM will be done in seven months, pending financial support from the trusteeship.
