This morning, 01-11-2023, the Rector of the University of Blida 02 Lounici Ali, Prof. Khaled Ramoul, gave the official opening of the activities of the celebration of the Amazigh New Year 2973, at the Conference Hall Said Ayadi, in the presence of vice rectors, deans, heads of departments, as well as the Director of National Higher School of Hydraulics and the Director of University Works (El Affroun).
Prof. Ramoul pointed out in his opening speech that the University of Blida 02 Lounici Ali has established since its creation a commendable tradition that brings together the university community, organizer of all national and historical occasions, among others the celebration of the Amazigh New Year.
The rector also specified that the Algerian identity was a composition of three fundamental dimensions that are inseparable from each other: Arabic, Tamazight and Islam. He added that that mixture constituted, in fact, the historical and cultural depth which made the pride of any Algerian.
Prof. Ramoul referred to the efforts made by the Algerian State to make this day a national holiday, which indicates that the Amazigh identity is an integral part of the Algerian identity enshrined in the Constitution, and also proves that the Amazigh language remains a bridge of culture and civilization of the Algerian identity.
The Rector notably visited the handicrafts exhibition held on the margin of the Amazigh New Year celebration, and where various handicrafts of ceramics and traditional clothes symbolizing the Amazigh heritage were exhibited.
In the same context, the activities of the celebration of the Amazigh New Year included the programming of a conference presented by Dr. Toufik Zerrouki, entitled National Identity and Cultural Heritage. Example of Yennayer, and in which the speaker evoked on the model of the Algerian national cultural heritage, the relation between national identity and cultural heritage, in addition to the role of the university in the development and the promotion of the national identity through cultural heritage, including the Amazigh dimension.
